2017: Best.Year.Ever.

On those rare moments of silence and alone time (usually in the shower, #MomLife) I often reflect on who I am and who I would like to be.  After reviewing the ‘2016 me’, I realized this was the year of ‘realizing stuff’, LOL. (Kylie Jenner tag). But really, it was a year of learning.  I halted blogging and my online business and dove into self-help books to really grow and expand myself.  My goal was to figure out who I am now as an almost 30 year and what I want my future to look like.  Looking back to who I was a year ago, I can say I have a ton more confidence and know what I have to offer, what I deserve and where I want to go.

With the New Year, it brings goal setting. I wanted to share my top 5 books that I would recommend to any women setting up her future, whether financially, professionally or as an entrepreneur.

(*Please note, I am not sponsored to recommend ANY of these books.  These are 100% recommend by me!*)

Leave your Mark by Aliza Licht
When I first started this book I felt like it was common sense and I almost put it down.  Something inside told me to keep going and I am glad I did! It covers everything from office politics to how to dress for success.  Even goes into detail on social media and managing it all.  Definitely recommend if you looking to grow professionally.  Aliza truly takes you under her wing as if you are undergoing a personal mentorship direct from her.

Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office by Lois P. Frankel
This one is a great one for those who want to be empowered and learn the trick of the trades in any office setting. From explaining how mannerism taught to us as young girls can affect our position in a work place to mistakes we make with money – this book covers it all.  You may not agree with every tip, but many add value to how your mindset should be to get ahead.

    #GirlBoss by Sophia Jes Austell
#GirlBoss was one of the first books I read when I knew I wanted to start my own business.  It may not be chopped full of tips and tricks of the trade, but it’s an inspiring.  Knowing you can take yourself from nothing to everything with hard work and dedication gives you the motivation to move forward and go after your own dreams.

I will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi
Now that I am older and have a family of my own, I need something to get me on the right financial path.  This was truly sent from above!  I literally have become obsessed with all things Ramit Sethi (that sounds creepier than I mean for it to be LOL) but his advice is priceless.  He goes into details on everything from banking, savings, budgeting to investing.  If you are ready to make changes financially, READ THIS NOW.  I honestly wish I read this a lot sooner.

You are a badass by Jen Sincero
If you’re looking for a kick in your entrepreneurial pants, this one is for you. A former self-help skeptic herself, she gives all the goods on mastering your thoughts and creating the energy you need to conquer.  She shares her personal stories of struggle to change and also gives you exercises on how to change yours.

I always tell my children, “you are strong, brave and you can do ANYTHING!”
And I truly believe this applies to you too.
          Make 2017 great!
